Cheyne's Bridge - Free or Low Cost Camp

Situated on the banks of the Macalister River, Cheyne's Bridge is a lovely area to stop and camp. The area is a perfect place to have a swim, launch your kayak or try your luck at fishing in the river here as well. 

It is a large grassy camping area that is popular as a base camp for caravanners and trail bike riders heading into the Gippsland High Country. It is accessible to motorbikes, RVs, camper trailers, caravans and big rigs. Camping in tents is permitted.

The entrance to the camping area is located to the left of the main road and then you follow the track under the bridge into the camping area. Here you will find toilets, picnic tables and dogs are allowed.

Please note: Not all parks or campgrounds allow campfires. Make sure you check the park signs in the campground before you light a campfire.
