The park and surrounding reserve could easily be classified as the sporting hub of Golden Beach, featuring a 3 km walking track, football oval, cricket pitch, bowling green, golf course and BMX track.
The VMMR also is home to a Licensed Bar & Bistro operated by volunteers as a service to the community Saturday nights.
Come and play at Golden Beach Golf Club, where the main attractions are the kangaroos that inhabit the fairways,and are usually the only spectators around the course. Enjoy the atmosphere and the hospitality provided to visitors and members old and new. Golden Beach Golf Club is an 18 hole flat course, with 9 holes with 18 tees, some undulating greens and plenty of trees.
