Lake Wellington Yacht Club is located at Marlay Point, on the shores of Lake Wellington, which is the westernmost lake associated with the Gippsland Lakes. Lake Wellington Yacht Club was originally established in 1960, and the club has grown from a shed on the shores of Lake Wellington, to the entire complex that it is today.

The Club welcomes all to come and try sailing, or to rediscover their love of the water. Volunteers are also welcomed, for events – such as the historic Marlay Point Overnight Yacht Race (MPOYR). The first run of the MPOYR, was way back in 1968 and ran with 28 boats. It has been run each year since, with entries between 120, to 665.

The sailing season at Lake Wellington Yacht Club runs from October to April and features a mixture of both social boating and racing. You can sail your own or enquire about boats to borrow from the club itself.

The Yacht Club facilities are fully accessible with a ramp from a disabled car park to the upper storey and accessible toilet and shower facilities on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a BBQ area and kitchen between two meeting areas. The Lake Wellington Clubhouse may be hired for events during the day or after hours.
