Join us during NAIDOC Week for a special community screening of Emu Runner (2018), a moving Australian film exploring culture, connection, and resilience.
Emu Runner follows Gem, a spirited nine-year-old Aboriginal girl living in a remote community, as she navigates the grief of losing her mother. Struggling to cope, Gem forms a powerful bond with a wild emu connected to her ancestors. As this bond deepens, it puts her at odds with authorities, highlighting themes of family, identity, and healing through culture. The movie is rated PG and is suitable for younger audiences.
